Backing up your stuff
Those of you that have experienced a hard disk failure and loss of data know that backing-up is an essential part of computing
Companies and large organisations spend considerable amounts of money on protecting their information and even a small company like ours takes back-up and retrieval very seriously.
Backing up need not be a chore if it's properly implemented. In fact you can set it up and leave it to get on with the job.
If you have one computer the easiest method, without opening the computer, is to attach a USB Hard Drive and then download and install a program like SyncBack. In its simplest form SyncBack will copy any files that have changed or been added, from the directories you specify, to the USB drive at either specific times of the day or when you close down the computer.
If you have more than one computer and a broadband router you can setup file sharing between computers and add a standalone Network Drive which will allow both computers to synchronise themselves with each other and with the Network Drive
